Meet the Team
Brett Peters
Originally from Manchester, my career began in UK and Global HR, including a consultancy role with the Charles Darwin Foundation. Over two decades, my professional life and a deep-seated wanderlust led me to more than 80 countries. However, my life changed in 2011 when I met my wife, Maria Augusta, and experienced the Galapagos Islands for the first time. Both left an indelible mark on me.
Now living in Santa Cruz, I consider every day a blessing, surrounded by the raw beauty of the Pacific and its unique wildlife. Beyond my love for travel, football, and DJing, I am deeply invested in our community. Since 2020, I have dedicated myself to local conservation and animal welfare, serving as a board member for the Pan Animalia Galapagos Foundation and supporting partners like Frente Insular RMG, Galapagos Conservation Trust, and PlasticBusters.
As your primary contact on the islands, I look forward to sharing my local knowledge to help you craft a sustainable "experience as unique as you."
Maria Augusta Ayala
I am Ecuadorian and I have lived in the Galapagos Islands for the last 25 years. As well as being the CEO and an equal partner of Uniquely Galapagos, I am also the owner of the Galapagos Deli, Puerto Ayora, which opened in 2010. I enjoy travelling, photography, gardening, baking and painting when I have spare time but most of the time managing the Galapagos Deli keeps me busy. As the CEO my role is more strategic, helping the business obtain annual operating permissions and agreeing its future direction but also assisting guests when the General Manager is away from the Islands.
Stefanie Schreyer
As a third-generation resident of the Galapagos, my connection to these islands is woven into my heritage. I am a trilingual Naturalist Guide, fluent in Spanish, German, and English, which allows me to bridge cultures while sharing the profound wonders of our natural world with a global audience.
I find my greatest joy in the outdoors, whether I am navigating the islands' rugged hiking trails or exploring the vibrant life beneath the waves. My mission is to provide an immersive perspective on the archipelago’s delicate ecosystems, ensuring every visitor leaves with a deep appreciation for the place I am proud to call home.
Jessica Cornejo Ortiz
I am a proud Galapagueña, raised in this equatorial paradise where sea lions, marine iguanas, and volcanic landscapes were the backdrop of my childhood. Since 2002, I have served as a Naturalist Guide for the Galapagos National Park, a role that allows me to turn my lifelong passion into a shared experience for our guests.
My heart belongs to the ocean; as an avid snorkeler and scuba diver, I find endless inspiration in the archipelago's endemic marine life. For me, every descent into these waters is a journey into a unique and magical world—one I am honored to reveal to those who visit our "Enchanted Islands."
Lenin Ampudia
My name is Lenin Ampudia, and I am a proud native of Quito. For over 20 years, I have served as a local guide and Tour Director—a career I truly adore and wouldn't trade for any other in the world.
My mission is to lead you beyond the well-trodden paths to discover the hidden secrets and cultural treasures of mainland Ecuador. Whether exploring our colonial history or our diverse landscapes, you can count on my two decades of expertise to provide an authentic and unforgettable journey through my homeland.
Melodie Peters
"As a lifelong resident of the North of England, I've developed a deep passion for sustainability. With over 15 years of experience in the field, I've helped numerous companies adopt more eco-friendly practices and minimize their environmental footprint. Living in a conservation area, I'm committed to giving back to my community. In my spare time, I volunteer for a local charity supporting a food bank and can often be found cleaning up our local park with my children. When I'm not advocating for a greener future, I enjoy exploring the outdoors through cycling, walking, baking, and photography."
